Renting a car for the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympics: advice and booking

The Games run from 31 October to 13 November 2026. If you stay for the whole event, a weekly or two-week rate is usually better value than daily rental. The website calculates the price automatically for your chosen duration.

Available vehicles are shown live on the rental page. The earlier you book, the wider your choice of models and delivery times.

For city trips between Dakar and Diamniadio, a saloon is enough for one or two people. For a family, luggage or a team, an SUV or 7-seater offers more comfort. For excursions outside Dakar, an SUV or 4x4 is more versatile.

Each vehicle page shows seats, gearbox and the daily rate. Weekly and monthly rates are shown when available.

Traffic in the Dakar region is dense and areas around venues may be restricted. A local driver knows alternative routes and avoids the search for parking. In Dakar, no accommodation fee is charged for the driver; outside Dakar (for example in Saly) the driver's lodging must be covered, either directly by you or organised by the agency and invoiced.

If you prefer to drive yourself, self-drive rental is available with the documents requested at booking.

Choose your vehicle, dates and pick-up and return times, then the delivery option: AIBD airport, our office or another address. The summary shows the daily rate, number of days, any extra fees, the 50% deposit and the remaining balance.

Family with luggage: an SUV or 7-seater, possibly with a driver on competition days. Teams or companions: several vehicles or a 7-seater, with a schedule confirmed with the agency.

The booking summary clearly shows the daily rate, number of days, any fees (delivery, return, driver, driver's lodging outside Dakar), the 50% deposit and the balance. Amounts not yet defined appear as "to be confirmed": we prefer to say so rather than show an approximate price.

Your budget is made of the rental price (days × rate, or weekly/monthly rate when better), any delivery or return fees, a driver if you want one, and fuel. Use the booking form: it shows the total and the deposit before you confirm anything.

Tip: if your stay covers a full week or more, always compare the weekly rate with the daily rate multiplied by the number of days.
