With or without a driver in Dakar: which should you choose?

Driving yourself gives total freedom of schedule and route, and the budget is lower as no driver is charged. It suits you if you already know Dakar or are comfortable in dense traffic.

For a first visit, a business trip or an event, the driver knows the routes, handles parking and lets you work or rest in the car. It is also the most comfortable option for late arrivals.

In Dakar, no accommodation fee is charged for the driver. Outside Dakar, for example for a stay in Saly or Saint-Louis, the driver must be accommodated: you can take care of it directly or ask the agency to organise it, in which case the cost is invoiced. The nightly amount is shown when the agency has set it, otherwise it is "to be confirmed".
